Sickening Abortion Story

There has been a lot in the press recently about the murder of Wichita abortionist George Tiller and although I categorically abhor murder and believe there is no justification whatsoever for it and we should be content to leave any vengeance with God who is the Judge of all men and He will bring them to account I wanted to post some horrific and very sad pictures I came across depicting  the evil work of George Tiller who not only played god with the slaughtering of  the lives of thousands of children but whose work also caused untold physical  emotional and spiritual damage to the women involved.

The mother in this picture is at the “memorial service” of her daughter Tess who has been butchered by Tiller in which he reportedly drove a pair of scissors  into the back of the girls scull killing her in the most horrific fashion.

What The Scriptures Teach

Many have argued that because the Bible does not mention abortion therefore aborting babies is not a sin. Why the silence of the Bible on abortion? The answer is simple. Abortion was so unthinkable to an Israelite woman that there was no need to even mention it in the criminal code. Why was abortion an unthinkable act? First, children were viewed as a gift or heritage from the Lord. Second, the Scriptures state–and the Jews concurred–that God opens and closes the womb and is sovereign over conception. Third, childlessness was seen as a curse.

The Scriptures undeniably teach that God Himself Personally creates every child in the womb of the mother and knows them intimately before they are even born.

Furthermore, God is the One Who “opens and closes the womb” — He decides when children are conceived. Children in the womb are alive, not simply a “fetus”. Yet so many today think that they know better than God whether or not they should have a child.

It is also clear that God desires the birth of children. When God chastised King David for his adulterous affair and subsequent murder of Bathsheba’s husband, He took the life of the baby through illness. Many today would actually be pleased to have such an “get out”! Yet David, despite his sin of adultery, fasted seven days before God in the hope that his infant would live! David knew that the infant, though conceived in adultery, was a gift from God. How different from modern attitudes.

Human beings are created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26-27; 5:1; 9:6). Bearing the image of God is the essence of humanness. And though God’s image in man was marred at the Fall, it was not erased (cf. 1 Cor. 11:7; James 3:9). Thus, the unborn baby is made in the image of God and therefore fully human in God’s sight.

Every conception is an act of God as Scripture indicates—You made me; You formed me; You breathed into me the breath of life; You ordained that I would live; You opened the womb; You made me to be the one You wanted me to be. This is the testimony of Scripture. Psalm 139:13-16.

God alone claims absolute sovereignty and right over life and death. To take the life of the unborn is therefore a violation of Exodus 20:13 — it is murder.
